Movie Review: Soul Surfer

  Please Y'all should find a way of getting this movie. It is a very inspiring, thrilling, suspense-filled and faith-based movie. Once again, the movie moved me to tears. If you don't cry after this movie...toh we might have to check what is in the place of your heart o. Soul Surfer is a 2011 American biopic drama film directed by Sean McNamara. It is a film adaptation of the 2004 autobiography Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board by Bethany Hamilton about her life as a surfer after a horrific shark attack and her recovery. The film stars AnnaSophia Robb, Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, and Lorraine Nicholson with Carrie Underwood, Kevin Sorbo, Sonya Balmores, Branscombe Richmond, and Craig T. Nelson.
Filming took place in Hawaii in early 2010 with Robb wearing a green sleeve on her arm so visual effects could be added in post-production to create the appearance of a stump. Additional filming took place in Tahiti in August 2010. Soul Surfer was released in theaters on April 8, 2011 in the United States and Canada by FilmDistrict. 'Left Behind' Movie Releases New Poster

It's about time, I've been waiting for this movie since I was a child. If you had a studious childhood or a childhood at all...lol...you'll know that "The Left Behind" series was just it. The "Left Behind" movie's Facebook page released the film's official poster earlier this week.
The movie, unlike its previous film predecessors will be released in theaters, though no release date has yet been set.
Based off the bestselling books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, Nicholas Cage will star as Raymond Steele, an airplane pilot who has lost his wife to the rapture and remains on earth with his daughter Chloe Steele. Chloe will be played by Cassi Thomson who replaced Ashley Tisdale after she quit the project due to a scheduling conflict.

Beyonce Reveals 'God Made You Beautiful'

 I pray its true o. Beyonce Knowles may be giving her fans a preview of her new song dedicated to her almost 2-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter called, "God Made You Beautiful."

The song preview was featured in the preview of the DVD release of Beyonce's documentary that initially aired on HBO called "Life Is But a Dream." While fans have been waiting for new music from the singer with no real album release date announced, she gave them a sneak peak of "God Made You Beautiful" in her DVD trailer slated for a Nov. 25 release.

'Noah' Movie Teaser Trailer Officially Released

A 17-second trailer for Darren Aronofsky's upcoming film "Noah" was released today. The clips briefly show Noah underwater and of him beginning to construct the ark.
The release of the teaser comes after a three minute preview of the film leaked online last month. In it, Noah (Russell Crowe) informs his wife (Jennifer Connelly) that God "is going to destroy the world."
A man (Anthony Hopkins) confirms Noah's premonition and informs Noah that the flood is God's way of fulfilling his promise that "if man continued in his ways, the creator would annihilate this world."
Reports emerged last month that Paramount and Aronofsky, the film's director were not on the same page on whom would bear responsibility for the film's final edits. The film has already surpassed its original budget of $150 million due to the cost of its special effects, which are used to create all the animals in the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Noah," which is set to open in roughly four months, also has allegedly received "worrisome" feedback from Christian and Jewish audiences in preliminary screenings. Knowing the high expectations of a religious audience, this feedback has incited more tension between the studio and director.
"Noah" will open in theaters on March 28, 2014. See trailer here

'I'm in Love with a Church Girl,' Starring Ja Rule and Adrienne Bailon, is #1 Indie Movie in the U.S.

Christian independent movie, "I'm In Love With A Church Girl," looks to be quite a hit after a strong opening weekend in select theaters.
It is currently the #1 independent movie in theaters, with Rolling Stone calling the film "the biggest indie debut this week," with showings on more than 450 screens averaging, per screen $2300. I havent seen the movie buh there's so much hype going on for the movie so maybe its cool like that.

Natalie Grant's 'Hurricane' Nets Singer Best First Week Debut of Career

Well, in other news, christian contemporary singer, Natalie Grant, had her biggest first week debut with new album, HURRICANE, as it reached #17 on The Billboard Top 200 charts and #1 on the Billboard Christian charts.

Donnie McClurkin’s loses father

We are so sorry to report that Donnie McClurkin‘s father Donald Andy McClurkin, Sr. has passed away. The patriarch of the family was hospitalized last week after having an emergency surgery at Palmetta Baptist Medical Hospital in South Carolina.
Donald Andy McClurkin, Sr. died at about 4:30 am on Wednesday, November 13, 2013.
Information about Donald Andy McClurkin, Sr.’s homecoming ceremony has not yet been announced.

THE HASSLES ABOUT GOSPEL MUSIC AWARDS by Kayode Olusoji

                                                      
In the past, many gospel artists believe that they can do wishy-washy music, produce less than quality video and cover it up with prayer and anointing. But when I look at the qualities of one of my mentors in the bible, King David, he was highly professional, very cunning in playing and he also had God’s anointing. He was anointed by Prophet Samuel while he was still tending his father’s flock in the bush. He was diligently playing his harp and composing his songs then while he was still in obscurity, and his congregation then was the flock of sheep. If an earthly king can consider professionalism as one of the criteria for David to play his harp in his presence, I want to submit that the King of kings deserves our best.

Soweto Gospel Choir Signs International Deal

Soweto Gospel Choir has signed a deal with Universal music.
The deal will see the South African Grammy Award winning music group distributing their album “Divine Decade throughout the US and Canada.
CEO of Universal Elizabeth Sobol, said, “Soweto Gospel Choir has been a powerful and important presence on the American scene, bringing their inspiring music to concert halls across the US.”
Universal Music MD, Randall Abrahams, commented “I’m extremely happy to see this landmark album released in the US market. I believe it will garner a diverse audience of listeners who will be enthralled by the choir’s songs and arrangements”
The album, “Divine Decade”, celebrates the group`s 10th anniversary, and it features collaborations with U2, Zahara, Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Ladysmith Black Mambazo .
Since their formation in 2002 Soweto Gospel Choir has racked up a string of accolades that would be the envy of even the biggest global pop star, including among others: they have won an Emmy, two Grammys, three SAMAS and one Oscar nomination.
Here is to another ten years of achieving.

TD Jakes defends Tyler perry laying hands on him

Ok...ummm, this gist is sha interesting. So, earlier this year, actor, director and producer Tyler Perry announced a $1 million dollar donation to T.D. Jakes’ youth center and laid his hands on Jakes’ during the MegaFest event in Dallas.
Perry spoke during morning service on Sunday at Jakes’ Potters House church.
“They don’t understand it in Hollywood, but I’m going to tell you something about the blood of Jesus,” Perry told the audience.
After announcing his donation, Perry placed his hands on Jakes’ head and blessed him. While some criticized the exchange where Perry laid his hands on the bishop and seemed to preach, Jakes is defending Perry in JET

Gboluwaga Akinade IBUOYE popularly known as GAISE is an Afrofusion artiste signed on to Sanctified Records Ltd. He studied Economics at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where he graduated with a Second Class Upper degree. He became a professional music artiste in 2010.

The GAISEBABA album was accompanied by the video for its lead single “Follow Follow” which was nominated for the Best Indigenous Concept at the Nigerian Music Video Awards (NMVA) 2011 and for  Best Video at The Africa Entertainment Awards 2012 in Malaysia, while he won The Scepters Award for New Revelation in 2011. He released another video off the album in March 2012 for “The Movie Song” (directed by DJ Tee). This Video was nominated for Best Gospel Video (NMVA 2012). EBEN and JAHDIEL set to wed

      You will recall that Gospel music minister Eben broke into the scene with a rock song ” Imarama,” so also did the “Heritage” crooner – Jahdiel. Now, not only will both be sharing their music preference and faith in common but also they will be sharing surname!
Yes, Eben and Jahdiel are set to tie the knot on the 30th of November 2013 at D.G.M Plot 4 off Road 16, Ikota Villa Estate, Lekki Ajah Expressway.
Jahdiel sent out word saying:
“JAHDIEL WEDS EBEN on the 30th of november 2013 @D.G.M plot 4 off rd 16 ikota villa estate. Lekki ajah expressway. Reception follows @ The Manor event center Admiral Ayinla Way. Lekki phase 1 , 3rd Round about..opp treasure garden estate. Lagos.”
Speculations have gone round for a while about the two courting so it didn’t come out as a surprise to many, instead as a pleasant news in the ears of well wishers and friends as the couple is finally making it official and tying the knot. Some of their colleagues – within the confines of modesty – have also expressed their excitement about the news of the couple.

MOVIE REVIEW: UNCONDITIONAL

Hi DSBers! Just thought to share a really valuable lesson I learnt recently.  So yeah, a friend gave me this movie and was really hyping the movie and all. She made me promise to watch the movie like immediately. I reluctantly did buh now I’m sooo glad I did.

      The movie made me discover that many of us have drifted far from what matters most in life. It’s been a while since I cried over a movie but I did on this one. I realized that everyone deserves love no matter how bad they may be. I also realized that true purpose lies in helping others fulfill theirs. 

     This is something a lot of us have lost along the way “that the storms of life are bound to come, but that maybe even in those storms, in the loneliest times of all, you are never really alone”. What if God’s love is like the sun, constant and unchanging? What if you woke up one day and realized nothing can take that away? There truly is enough love to go around; all you need to do is to share it.

     I highly recommend this movie, it will change your perspective of love and true purpose, it is called UNCONDITIONAL, based on the true story of Joe Bradford starring Michael Ealy (the ‘Think Like A Man guy) and Lynn Collins.
