This Week’s Billboard Top 10 Gospel CDs: See What Artist Made History This Week!

Lost in all the Stellar Awards activity is a little know fact that creeped up the Billboard Gospel albums chart. Still unconfirmed, we believe Gospel rapper Lecrae is the first artist to offer a free-download of his album and a for-sale version of the same album that charts at #1 in sales. Released at the same time, the only minor difference between the mix-tape free version of the album, and the paid version is that there’s no D.J. talking in the paid version. You would think nobody would go for the paid version? Wrong! To sell this many units after one month goes to show that Lecrae has an amazing fan-base. Not to be lost, is the other anomaly that Lecrae’s 2013 studio album ‘Gravity’ is also in the top 10 in sales. That’s two albums currently in the top 10! As a teenager, she became a fan of Hip Hop acts ranging from Lauryn Hill and Will Smith to Tupac Shakur. All of Lee’s diverse experiences have fused to create the illuminating backdrop for her sophomore CD “Stereotypes” (In My City Records) that releases on iTunes and other retail outlets on January 21, 2014. Lee’s story is unique in that she credits not only her faith but also Hip Hop for saving her life. “Hip Hop saved me from a lot of things,” she confesses. “My biggest struggle growing up was with my identity and it all correlates with being stereotyped and not knowing where I belonged because I was adopted.” See more and video link( I tried to upload the video buh it dint work out) after the cut...

The Christian Name no Christian Will Give to Their Daughter

So I stumbled on this very interesting and amazingly true article and thought to share it with you guys. I discovered that this really true. Christians love to name their children after biblical characters, especially those of outstanding spiritual strength, beauty, or fruitfulness.
Go through any church and you’ll find lots of Davids, Peters, Pauls, Matthews, Marks, Johns, etc. And among the ladies, multiple Sarahs, Rachels, Marys, Ruths, Rebeccas, Leahs, Lydias, etc.
But there’s one woman’s name you won’t find anywhere. Which is passing strange because she’s the only woman in the Bible who:

Tennessee Based Christian Media Companies To Premiere New Film: LOVE 101

FRED HAMMOND UPDATE: Singer Continues to Learn How to Walk After Double Knee Replacement

Gospel star Fred Hammond has reported steady progress on the procedure that replaced both knees. In a recent picture shared on Facebook the ‘united tenor’ showed off his fresh scares.
On his Facebook page, Hammond wrote, “The Word of God plays 24 hours nonstop. My legs have no choice but to line up and cry out to Him, worship and give Him Glory as they respond to His mighty word. My heart mind & soul join in the in the concert of praise giving thanks to the savior of the world. My eyes send tears down my face that remind my heart of the marvelous grace of God. And even the pain I feel raises up to give God glory telling me that his stay is short and he’s been given discharge papers, and his (pain’s) presence is only here to let me know God is healing and not to worry. Bless Him.”
Hammond also stated that he just started moving his toes, so far, so good!
 Keep Fred in your prayers.
